How long are the courses?

It really depends on how much time you can devote to the course you’re on. On average, students manage to get through a unit per week. Some can do a unit in a day. Please see individual course descriptions for an approximate idea of length.

Is there an age limit?

Due to the complexity of course content, our programmes of study are aimed at adult learners. However, we have had school leavers as young as 16 successfully complete courses.

Is There A Time Limit?

Yes, courses come with two years from date of enrolment. We will email you when that two years approaches its end, inviting you to extend by an extra year for a set fee, currently £50 per course. We will not email again about the extra year expiring and it is expected that you will complete the course within this time. It will be down to the Student to request another extension before this extra year expires. Where steady progress is being made, we may grant multiple one year extensions on relevant courses that are still available. Where time limits expire without an extension requested, we are required by law to remove personal details and delete expired students from our records.

How do I enrol?

Complete the simple payment process via the relevant course page. This provides us with all the information we need to process enrolment, i.e. name, address, contact details. There are no lengthy or complicated registration forms to fill in. We will then contact you with the welcome information, along with your first unit within 48 hours. We have chosen to offer Paypal as our main payment processing system to give students peace of mind that their payment is protected. Paypal is the safest way to make online payments. You do not need to have a Paypal account to pay this way. Simply click on payment button as normal and complete your card details.

Do you offer any discounts?

See the Why BCCS? dropdown menu.

How are courses sent out?

First units are provided as links, immediately after purchase. If you have not received your order confirmation and links within 24 hours, please get in touch. We cannot be held responsible for any missing course materials due to junk or spam filters on your devices.

All courses are online home study, with subsequent units being provided one at a time. Units are simple PDFs. The courses are coursework based and most units are Q&A. There are some images in some units. There are no videos and there is no logging in online for classes. Many Students enjoy Adobe’s Read Aloud feature, enabling neurodivergent Students and those with impaired vision, to take in the unit content where pages of text might be a problem.

When ready, email your submissions in just about any format.

You can enrol at any time – there are no term or start dates – and complete the studies at your own pace within a two year time period from the date your enrolment is processed.

We do not offer a postal correspondence option.

Please note that units are not sent out to students all at once. In order to progress to the following unit, a PASS grade must be attained for the unit currently being studied.

I am not based in the UK. Can I still enrol?

Of course. We have students all over the world. When you proceed to the payment screen, Paypal/Stripe will convert the amount payable to your local currency using today’s exchange rate.

How is student support offered?

Student support is email based via a dedicated tutor, available Mon-Fri, 9-5. You can email questions for your tutor, and our excellent Facebook Group, just for Students, has thousands of like minded people waiting to offer help, support and motivation!

Can I speak to my tutor by phone?

Unfortunately, due to the number of students we have, it would be impossible for individual tutors to answer course enquiries by phone. Therefore, we politely ask that all enquiries and questions are emailed.

What’s included in the price?

All course materials (units are emailed as PDFs one at a time), tutor support, marking, and your Certificate upon completion, sent via Certifier in digital format.

Can I Get Hands On Experience In The Real World?

Yes! Behaviour students and graduates can access hands-on practical experience – including shadowing days on real cases – through The Balanced Dog Collective, the free community run by BCCS tutor Julia Langlands. Shadowing days are held in the Yorkshire area and arranged directly with Julia; join the Collective free at https://www.skool.com/the-balanced-dog-collective/about for full details. Where other courses include a practical element or face-to-face examination, these can be arranged between student and tutor at a mutually convenient time.
