Anti Bullying Policy

The British College of Canine Studies is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students, staff, and individuals associated with our courses. Bullying, harassment, or any form of intimidation will not be tolerated in any capacity.

  1. Definition of Bullying

Bullying is any behaviour that is intended to hurt, intimidate, or undermine another person. This can be verbal, written, physical, or psychological, and may occur in person or online. Bullying can include, but is not limited to:

  • Name-calling, insults, or derogatory remarks.
  • Spreading rumours or false information.
  • Deliberately excluding or isolating someone.
  • Personal attacks based on race, gender, disability, sexuality, or any other characteristic.
  • Threats, intimidation, or aggressive behaviour.
  • Repeated unwanted messages, emails, or online harassment (cyberbullying).
  1. Commitment to a Respectful Learning Environment

We expect all students, staff, and contributors to:

  • Communicate respectfully with one another.
  • Engage in discussions with professionalism and kindness.
  • Refrain from any behaviour that could cause distress or harm to others.
  • Recognise and respect differences in opinions, backgrounds, and experiences.
  1. Reporting and Addressing Bullying

If a student feels they are being bullied or witnesses bullying, they should:

  • Keep a record of any incidents, including dates and details.
  • Report the issue via email to our support team in confidence.
  • Avoid responding with aggression or further conflict.

All reports of bullying will be taken seriously and handled with sensitivity. Action may include:

  • Informal resolution through discussion.
  • A formal warning to the offending individual.
  • Removal from our courses if behaviour continues.
  1. Consequences of Bullying

The British College of Canine Studies reserves the right to take appropriate action against any student who is found to have engaged in bullying. This may include warnings, suspension, or removal from the course without a refund.

  1. Commitment to Continuous Improvement

We encourage feedback on this policy and will review it regularly to ensure it remains effective in maintaining a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment.

By enrolling in a course with the British College of Canine Studies, students agree to uphold this Bullying Policy and treat others with respect and professionalism.
