Puppy Care Certificate Course

Everyone loves a puppy. With their cute little faces and adorable play behaviours, how could you not? What many people don’t take into account when buying a puppy is the amount of work that needs to go into caring for and raising a well balanced pup who can then grow into a well behaved and happy adult dog. There is little or no consideration made for the complexities of owning a pup and how much it will all cost. Many people don’t consider the fact that puppies don’t stay that way forever, and soon they’ll have an adult dog whose behaviours, temperaments, fears and phobias are largely based on genetics and environment, i.e. how they, the owners, raised and cared for them. As is the case with raising a child, it is very easy to get things wrong when bringing up a puppy. You need to know the ropes before the pup becomes part of the family, or you may be on a downwards slide from moment one. With the right information, you can help that puppy grow into a balanced, confident adult, free of aggression, behavioural issues, fears, phobias and anxieties.

It is a sad and shocking fact that one in five people who bought a puppy have either re-homed it or taken it to a rescue centre by the age of two.

I found this course to be very interesting and I learnt heaps. I think it will help me a lot when we start our puppy classes and therefore I will be able to help other people better understand their dogs and how they think. Hopefully this will make life better for both dog and owner. I would absolutely recommend the course to other people if they are looking to better their knowledge on dogs. I really enjoyed it.

Working for BCCS online make the course flexible and achievable as i could fit it in around my spare time. I had so much support from my tutor and some wonderful positive feedback that i felt by the final module she was more than just a tutor and wanted me to succeed. i would definitely recommend completing a course through BCCS as they are great value for such a high standard of learning. I am already planning which course to do next and am really looking forward to it. Josie, Puppy Care Diploma Graduate, West Sussex

I found the course challenged what I already knew about puppies and helped me develop my learning on how to socialise them and care for them. The questions encourage you to find out information for yourself rather than just using the text in the each unit. This is brilliant as you learn a lot more doing this rather than copying information from the text
I found the information in each unit very informative and was very easy to understand.
I’m also very happy that each unit is processed and marked within a week, meaning you can move on to the next unit without hassle.

I recommend this course to anyone who is contemplating getting a puppy; it is very informative It will give you guidelines as to what to look for and to avoid and make you aware of potential problems and how to deal with them should they occur. If you go on to utilise the information It should help ensure you have a happy puppy, who grows into a well balanced adult dog making you a happy owner, oh and the tutor is friendly too.
